The Landing School provides educational programs that effectively prepare students for entry-level careers in the marine industry. The Landing School offers full-time programs of education in Wooden Boat Building, Composite Boat Building, Yacht Design and Marine Systems which run from September through June. A student may complete one educational program and receive a diploma, or a student may choose to complete two educational programs plus some general education courses and receive an associate's degree.

The School serves the marine industry by providing skilled employees who design, build and repair boats with the highest standards of quality. Accordingly, The School receives generous support and direction from the industry in curriculum design and program implementation. Noted industry leaders regularly lecture at The School and evaluate student work.

Students

The student-body is primarily comprised of adults who seek careers in the marine industry; however, people who are retired or taking time from formal academics find spending time at The Landing School is invaluable. Students have come from all over the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. Graduates of its programs are actively employed in the marine industry worldwide as professional designers, builders, systems technicians, crewmembers and repairers. Some go into related fields such as sailmaking, spar design, marine surveying and yacht sales. Many start their own shops and design offices.

The ACCSC is a member of the Council on Post-secondary Accreditation.
